C and I just returned from casting our votes.
I nearly cried in the booth. I nearly cried at dinner. I'm nearly crying now.
I've never felt so strongly about my vote, my hopes, my anticipation.
My future. Our future.
Never in my life have I cared so much.
Now--along with America, we wait.
Regardless of your political affiliation, I hope you voted today--with passion.

Nope, didn't vote today.
HOWEVER, I DID vote last month when my country held an election. And I'm horrified to say that less than 60% of eligible voters turned out.

Is it wrong that whenever I see a "I voted" sticker, I immediately thing it says "I farted" and giggle to myself?

I wasn't allowed to vote in this election. Danged prejudice against Canadians.
I voted. Early. And drove my husband to vote on time. We proudly watched the election coverage last night. And we both cried when what we had hoped for finally came true.
I am so glad I'm not the only one who was glued to the TV last night. And apparently at 9:30 today, they are still counting in Indiana (we Hoosiers apparently aint good at count'n)
Not that Obama needs our state to win, but it sure is nice to see sweeping victories.

I voted early. YAY for absentee ballots... I'm pretty sure those aren't counted, but it appears that it wouldn't have mattered. I was full of tears watching the speeches... GLUED to the tv for a few hours last night. My sick kid was laying next to me and I was trying to explain to her the magnitude of it all... and she drifted off to sleep. That's okay... His speech was pumped into her sleeping unconscious and that's good, too.
NOW... I hope and hold my breath that his promises will actually unfold. Because if one thing politicians are good at is saying what needs to be said to get elected.

And I cried last night when he walked out on stage. Wonderful.
And isn't it fantastic? I love the fact that everyone has been so involved, so motivated, so energized. Yay!
